Colin and Maciej arrived at Bungsamran after what's been quite a tough weeks fishing by Thailand standards. Even though they had enjoyed most of the usual species that anglers want to catch, sizewise it had been dissapointing. However in the late afternoon on the last day a tentative take was struck by the guide, too all of us it seem initially to simply be a another Stripped Catfish and consequently no one was in a rish to take the rod. But as Boonsong was waiting for Maciej to put his gimple on, a large round boil hit the surface and immediately the tone of the moment changed, "carp!" Boonsong yelp. By this time the fish was pretty close in and more of those beautiful round boils hit the surface as the carp turned its body sharply against the surface to try and go down.
After a few minutes the net went under a Siamese Carp that was 46lbs or about 20kgs! Maciej at least had got the fish he came to Thailand after.
